Pray for Nazar...

When Jenny and I first visited the Pediatric Ward of the hospital in Ivankiv in August of 2007, we met a funny looking boy who had HUGE ears and was almost one year old. The nurse introduced us to Nazar. If you have read this blog before, you will have noticed a small boy on the right top corner of the blog. That is Nazar.

Nazar is an interesting name because it points to the Biblical Nazarite. Where did this young boy get his name? Was his mother a believer?

Nazar has a sad story. He was abandoned at birth and has lived in this room at the hospital for almost two years now. His mother, following giving birth, snuck out of the hospital in the middle of the night and has never been seen since. Nazar has lived his entire life within the confines of these walls.

Please pray for Nazar. Pray that God would find him a home and a family who will love him!

Below are a few photos we took last week while playing with Nazar...

Do you know if Nazar is being offered as an adoptable child by the Ukrainian authorities? Does he have any health problems?

I do not know that information. I can check on it. Email me at akellyukraine@gmail.com and we can talk about it.

Hello,

We thought you would appreciate our note as we truly believe we have answered your request to pray for Nazar and Nazar has answered our prayer for a child!
My name is Helen Frederickson and my husband (Dave) and I are in Ukraine going thru the adoption process for Nazar (he was only available for adoption in the past month Dec 09'). We're from Toronto, Canada and will be able to provide much love and attention for our child (Oscar Nazar). Thank you for caring and sharing your love with him and I can say God has answered your prayers. He has such a bright light around him....and developing well for his age of 35mos. We would really appreciate any comments or aspects of your interaction with him. It was quite a bizarre cisrcumstance that led us to your blog site and all we had was a brief mention from an agency contact on the city she though he was born in that we had google and saw the link to abandoned babies of Ukraine and my husband immediately clicked and there we were face to face with the boy who we had been presented amongst many others available for adoption!
Best regards Helen & Dave Frederickson
